Bert Selva, President and CEO of Shea Homes, talks about his upbringing, his journey into the home building industry, and what inspirational leadership means to him.
Welcome back to the Inspirational Leadership with the Best in Home Building podcast. Today Mollie Carmichael interviews Bert Selva, President and Chief Executive Officer of Shea Homes, the largest privately-held home builder in the US.
Bert’s passion and drive for his work stem in part from his parent’s immigrant dreams, their faith, and his mother’s effervescent positivity. As a child, he loved design and envisioned a career in the automotive industry. However, while pursuing his MBA and commuting nearly four hours a day, Bert desperately needed a job closer to home. Then a friend referred him for a project at Rancho Mission Viejo – an experience that exposed him to the many aspects of the home building business. That opportunity not only opened a door but reignited a childhood passion.
Learn more about Bert’s life, his journey into home building, and who inspires him, in this episode of Zonda’s Inspirational Leadership with the Best in Home Building podcast.
