Zonda is esteemed to announce Birchwood at Brambleton as the 2025 recipient of its Masterpiece Builder Award, presented by BUILDER! The award will be bestowed at the Future Place conference at the Ritz-Carlton Resort in Irving, Texas, on Oct. 27-29.
“The inaugural Masterpiece Builder Award was introduced last year to shine the light on clever design, which enhances the overall masterplan vision,” said Jeff Meyers, chief executive officer of Zonda. “Brambleton Group flipped both its school district constraints and large stormwater pond challenge into opportunities, which made Birchwood at Brambleton one of the region’s most sought-after 55+ neighborhoods.”
Located in Loudoun County, Virginia, the 1,500 Birchwood at Brambleton units include four builders with previous experience in Brambleton (Miller & Smith, Van Metre Cos., Tri Pointe Homes, and Knutson).
Collectively, the builders offered different design perspectives, giving homebuyers product diversification from single-story living to larger multifamily and townhome-style homes.
“Too often, developers chase density without considering size variety. We do have a whole variety of products,” said Kim Adams, vice president of marketing at Brambleton Group, during an interview with BUILDER. “When you drive by, you don’t realize you’re in an active-adult community. It’s very seamless.”
Birchwood also placed major focus on its amenity strategy, which began with its prime location with easy access to the city center, trails, and airport. They also feature pickleball and bocce courts, a community greenhouse, indoor and outdoor pools, and integrated trail-connected exercise stations, among other amenities.
The Brambleton Group and the four builders of Birchwood at Brambleton will be honored at Future Place and featured in the Q3 edition of BUILDER Magazine in “Masters of Place” by award-winning editor Symone Strong. The previous winner of the inaugural Masterpiece Builder Award was Estridge Homes.
